LG Optimus Vu II: Phablet, remixed
LAS VEGAS--Released in South Korea this past September, the LG Optimus Vu II made its way to CES 2013 in all its 5-inch phablet glory.
A few bumps up
The handset is powered by the same 1.5GHz dual-core processor as its predecessor. However, it's thinner, its RAM has been bumped up from 1GB to 2GB, onboard memory was increased from 32GB to 64GB, and it now comes with a microSD card slot.
Vu Talk that talk
The handset also comes with Vu Talk, which lets you communicate annotations with other Vu II handsets through a data or Wi-Fi network.
Real-time notes
Here, Vu Talk lets both handsets view each other's annotations in real time and differentiated by separate ink colors.
Wider notes
Another new software feature is Panorama Note, which is an expansion of LG's note-taking app, Quick Memo.
Scroll side to side
Instead of being able to write and draw on one plane, you can scroll from side to side using a navigation tool in the bottom-right corner and take "panoramic notes" that are wider.
A new shiny back
On the back is an 8-megapixel camera and there is a 1.3-megapixel camera up front.
