As the weather starts to heat up, it's time to think about those outdoor gatherings coming up in a few months. You'll want portable Bluetooth speakers to get the good party vibes going, right? Well, right now, during Amazon's Big Spring Sale, you can pick up the Beats Pill Bluetooth speakers for just $100, which is $50 off the normal price tag. And despite the small size, these speakers pack in some powerful sound. That said, the sale is ending tonight, so you'll want to act fast to take advantage of this deal.

The original Beats Pill Plus came out in 2015 for $200, but Apple discontinued them when the market became oversaturated with Bluetooth speakers. However, the Beats Pill was introduced in 2024, and they boast a much better sound, battery, durability, USB-C charging and a lower price that got even lower during Amazon's Big Spring Sale.

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

The Beats Pill is similar to the original in terms of size, but there have been many improvements made since then. The new Pill has a more cylindrical form, with the speaker grille only on one side. It now uses USB-C for charging instead of Lightning, and it has a detachable lanyard to make it easy to carry your Pill around. For durability, the new Beats Pill has an IP67 rating, which means it is fully waterproof and dust-proof. So if you plan to use this at your next pool party, you won't have a thing to worry about.

You get Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility with the Beats Pill, and it works with both iOS and Android devices. There is also multipoint Bluetooth pairing for the Beats Pill, though it's a bit easier with Android devices with automatic switching with devices linked with your Google account. For iOS users, it is linked to your iCloud account but requires manual switching between devices. Multiple Pills can also be paired to create stereo sound, and you also have the Find My feature on iOS and Android platforms.

As far as sound quality goes, the Beats Pill is pretty great. There's no auxiliary input, but you can get a wired connection using USB-C, and the speaker can also be used for speakerphone calls. The new model is also much better than the previous version, as it is much louder and with better bass definition and overall clarity. With 12 hours of battery life on a single charge, the Beats Pill will last you for a while during your next social gathering. You can read our full review of the speaker here.
