Robot vacuums are handy for keeping your home clean, and many newer models have incorporated mopping functionality as well. But what makes Eufy's new Omni E28 robovac so interesting is that it also comes with a detachable portable deep cleaner, which Eufy says is the world's first. The E25, the other model, is a more traditional robot vacuum with mopping capability, but both incorporate Eufy's proprietary HydroJet self-cleaning mop system.
Here's what you need to know about Eufy's latest additions to the lineup.
The Eufy E28 (left) comes with a portable deep cleaner and the E25 (right) doubles as a robot vacuum and mop.
The Omni E28 is probably the robot vacuum you're more interested in, and for good reason -- it's not just a robot vacuum. It comes with what's essentially a detachable, portable deep cleaner with a flexible hose that can be pulled out from the robovac base station. This allows you to clean spills and messes on furniture, carpets, stairs and other surfaces. The detachable motor can be used to power different attachments and the E28 base station water tank can be detached and used as a portable deep cleaner for targeted stain removal.
This isn't the first time Eufy has released a vacuum with handheld functionality. The Eufy 3-in-1 E20, showcased at CES 2025, is a robot vacuum, handheld vacuum and stick vacuum all in one model. We're currently testing the E20 in CNET lab and our technician loved using it. "[It's] [v]ery easy to use and has many customizable options for different cleaning needs," said Schylar Breitnstein. "This is my favorite of the robot vacuums."
The Eufy E28 has a detachable deep cleaner that can work on furniture, carpet and other surfaces.
In vacuum capabilities, the E28 has 20,000 pascals (Pa) of suction, the same as the E25. This puts them slightly below the E20, which can boost to 30,000Pa of suction for handheld cleaning and 8,000Pa in robot vacuum mode. Both come with a double roller brush to help remove dust and hair buried deeper in carpet -- an important feature if you have pets. There are also retractable DuoSpiral brushes that Eufy says can help prevent hair entanglement and reduce maintenance frequency. Last, but not least, both robovacs come with a pop-out "CornerRover Arm," which extends to clean corners and edges.
The E28 and E25 have 20,000Pa of suction and come with self-detangling double roller brushes.
As mentioned before, the E28 and E25 come with the HydroJet self-cleaning mop. It has a double scraper that can self-clean the mop rollers 360 times per minute by scraping away dirty water from the floor surfaces. The mopping system also has 15 newtons (N) of downward pressure, which translates to 3.3 pounds. Eufy says this is the industry's highest pressure to deep clean hard floors.
The E28 and E25 are both capable of mopping with the HydroJet system.
The Eufy E28 is currently available on Amazon for $999.99. The E25 is available for preorder for $899.99. CNET is currently testing the E28 in our robot vacuum testing lab, and we plan on putting the E25 through its paces once it's available.
