The Mandalorian season 3 kicks off on Disney Plus in March, and Lucasfilm dropped a fresh trailer Monday to get us buzzing for more live-action Star Wars. More importantly, the new season will chronicle the further adventures of Grogu, aka Baby Yoda.
The trailer opens with shots of various colorful Mandalorians, and then we see Djn Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu leaving Tatooine in their shiny new Naboo N-1 Starfighter. They're apparently bound for the ruined Mandalore.
We see sneaky Imperial scientist Dr. Pershing on galactic capital Coruscant -- you may remember him as the guy who harvested Grogu's blood in a failed effort to replicate his Force abilities in others. It's unclear what he's up to in the wake of his boss Moff Gideon being captured by the New Republic, but he's probably reporting to some Imperial baddy.
"There's something dangerous happening out there," New Republic Captain Carson Teva says, in a probable reference to the First Order. "And by the time it becomes big enough for you to act, it'll be too late."
Grogu also uses those Force powers to fling a nasty beast out of a cave, suggesting he's become more proficient with them since Mandalorian spinoff show The Book of Boba Fett.
Season 3 begins Wednesday, March 1. Over eight episodes, it'll reveal what happened to Grogu and Mando after reuniting in The Book of Boba Fett, and deal with the fallout of Mando being cast out of his intense religious sect in season 2 for removing his helmet.
The second season of the show ended in late 2020, and we had to wait until Disney's D23 convention last September for the upcoming season's first trailer.
You don't have to wait for a new dose of a galaxy far, far away on Disney Plus though -- season 2 of CGI animated series The Bad Batch is currently streaming with new episodes each week until late March.
