Over the past few months, Supplemental Security Income payments have not gone out when they're typically supposed to.

This can happen when the payment date falls either on a weekend or a holiday. April, however, is right on target, and beneficiaries can expect their payment right on time this month. SSI payment dates can change depending on what day the month starts or if the payment date falls on a holiday. Below, we'll explain why there's no check this month and the SSI schedule for the rest of the year.

Supplemental Security Income is a program run by the Social Security Administration. It benefits qualifying recipients with limited income and resources and people with qualifying disabilities. Children who are blind or with disabilities may also qualify for SSI.

SSI payment schedule for 2025

Here's when you can expect to receive your SSI payments for 2025:

  • Tuesday, April 1
  • Thursday, May 1
  • Friday, May 30 (for June)
  • Tuesday, July 1
  • Friday, Aug. 1
  • Friday, Aug. 29 (for September)
  • Wednesday, Oct. 1
  • Friday, Oct. 31 (for November)
  • Monday, Dec. 1
  • Wednesday, Dec. 31 (for January 2026)

Unlike the past few SSI checks, the next ones will be right on target and recipients should receive their payments on April 1.

Will other Social Security benefits come early?

No. For the most part, each Social Security benefit has a straightforward schedule, with only a couple of instances where it can waver from the typical timetable. For your reference, the Social Security payment schedule for April is below.

If you've received Social Security before May 1997 Apr. 3
If your birthday falls between day 1 and 10 of the month Apr. 9
If your birthday falls between day 11 and 20 of the month Apr. 16
If your birthday falls between day 21 and 31 of the month Apr. 23
