Malie Donn zooms into London with powerful V6 performance
KINGSTON, Jamaica —Dancehall artiste Malie Donn thrilled a 2000-strong audience with an impressive performance inside the jam-packed Mayfair club in the town of Romford in east London, UK over the weekend.
Dressed in full black outfit with black gloves to match, Malie Donn showed that he was in full command of his stage craft as he did songs such as ‘Suspect’, ‘Cups Up’, ‘Sacred’ and ‘7:00pm’. However, the high point of his performance came when he did ‘V6’, which is arguably his biggest hit song.
The young deejay had the audience singing the ‘V6’ hit word for word, and at one time, the crowd drowned him out on the microphone.
At one point, Malie Donn had to stop and flash a 100 watt smile at the adoration from his female fans.
After that, he could do no wrong and finished his set strongly with songs such as ‘Dirty Mirror’ and ‘Body Tea’, capping off a memorable night in the Mayfair club. Fellow dancehall act Byron Messia had performed earlier, opening the show as a supporting act.
Show promoter Ramone Roper, director of Ourthing Global Entertainment, was effervescent in his praise for the deejay.
“We left approximately 500 cash-on-the night customers outside. Malie Donn proved yet again that he is one of dancehall’s best sellers in London UK as he sold out a 2000 capacity venue after being here only nine months ago and still left fans wanting more. His performance was epic,” Roper said.
“My only regret is not booking a bigger venue. This is a young man that is certainly on his way to the highest heights”.
Malie Donn will embark on a series of dates across Europe, including shows in Toulouse, France, and Corfu, Greece. There are also plans for a Caribbean-wide tour later this year. The tours are being organised by the Reynolds Entertainment Agency which is led by Tameka Reynolds.
The deejay recently pulled off a great feat as he occupied the top four spots on Jamaica Apple music with songs such as chart-topper ‘8:00pm’ featuring Armani, rounding out the top spots with ‘Dirty Mirror’ featuring Dan Sky, ‘7:00pm’ featuring Armani and ‘Body’ Tea featuring Dan Sky.
