Amazon revealed a collection of new devices and services for your home at its fall product event on Wednesday, plus one for your car. The second generation of Echo Auto, the device that brings Alexa with you on your commute or travels, is set to arrive later this year. You can sign up to be notified when the new Echo Auto is available.
New features of the second-gen Echo Auto device include a slimmed-down, space-saving design and an adhesive base for flexible but stable positioning in your car. The device is equipped with five microphones designed to hear you and passengers over other sounds in your car such as music, air conditioning or traffic.

In addition to a new, sleeker device, there are a lot more Alexa capabilities, including hands-free messaging, music controls, Whole Foods order notifications and custom assistance.
More from Amazon's event
With the new device, Amazon also introduced Amazon Roadside Assistance. Nedim Fresko, Amazon's vice president of Alexa devices and developer technologies, told CNET the new feature will enable drivers to call via Alexa for help with roadside issues such as a flat tire or an empty gas tank. It's pay-as-you-go, meaning you only pay for the roadside assistance services you need.
The Echo Auto 2 will sell for $55, around the same as the $50 first-gen Echo Auto price (though those prices could drop during this year's second Amazon Prime Day event taking place on Oct. 11 and 12).
Amazon also announced the Kindle Scribe, the Halo Rise sleep tracker, the Fire TV Omni QLED, three new Echo Dot smart speakers and much more at its product event.
