Extra monitors extending from a laptop

The FlipGo Horizon adds snap-on monitors and a stand to your laptop.

Jsaux

Add-on portable monitors for laptops aren't a new thing, but the category continues to grow as displays get easier to make in more affordable forms. The latest candidates add a few extra tricks. The FlipGo Horizon line by Jsaux, showcased at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, is available in 13.5-, 15.6- and 16-inch sizes and includes a magnetic base to snap the extra monitors to. At the very least, know that with things like this FlipGo Horizon, you don't need a weird custom laptop to be, "the person with a laptop sprouting extra monitors."

The FlipGo gear isn't lightweight: Each monitor weighs 2.4 to 4 pounds each. They connect via USB-C, and this whole rig assumes you'll have a fair amount of space to either side of you. But the way the monitors extend out like wings from the laptop in either horizontal or vertical modes looks more standard than the odder flip-up dual-monitor setup that the last FlipGo line flaunted.

These new monitors are headed to Kickstarter first, so no specific prices are known yet. Would I use them? Well, not at that weight if I was on the go, but as a home solution they're an intriguing way to extend your laptop setup anywhere in your home or office.
