The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct happened on Wednesday morning, and it's official: The Switch 2 will launch on June 5 and have a starting price of $450 in the US.
The Switch 2 appears to be an ambitious successor to the original Switch. It will have various graphic upgrades, 256GB of storage and more third-party support.

Where can I preorder the Switch 2?
So far, only Nintendo has put up its preorder page, but it's not the typical process. Interested buyers must sign up for an invite to buy the console from Nintendo. However, there are some requirements for getting an invitation.

First, those who want to preorder must have a Nintendo Switch Online account with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership, be at least 18 years old, and have a minimum of 50 gameplay hours on the Switch as of April 2. This move is likely designed to stop scalpers from mass spamming Nintendo for invites. Those who do receive an invitation will have 72 hours to complete their purchase. Once all the invites to those registered who meet the requirements are filled, Nintendo will release the rest of its invitations to everyone else on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are two Switch 2 consoles available: the Switch 2 by itself for $450 and the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle for $500. The first invites to buy the Switch 2 from Nintendo will go out on May 8.
Best Buy has confirmed its preorder plans. Pre-orders for the Switch 2, games and accessories will be available online, on the Best Buy app and in stores. Best Buy also plans on having midnight launches for the Switch 2 at certain stores.

On Tuesday, an X subscriber posted what could be a preorder deal from GameStop for trading in an older Switch. The video game retailer typically offers trade-in deals for older consoles when newer ones are released.
