CNET/Microsoft

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a CNET Editors' Choice award pick, offers hundreds of games you can play on your Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One and PC or mobile device for $20 a month. A subscription gets you access to a large library of games with new titles added every month -- like the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 -- plus other benefits, like online multiplayer and deals on non-Game Pass titles.

Microsoft brought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and other titles to Game Pass Ultimate in July, and the company added these games to the service in August.

Creatures of Ava

Have you ever seen a cute creature in a game and wanted to pet it? If so, then you should give this game a try. This action-adventure creature-saver game is all about understanding and taming different creatures from various climates. While your mission is to stop a life-consuming infection that threatens the world, I won't tell if you just want to cuddle and pet all of the cute critters in the game.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

This collection of remastered games updates the first three titles in the Crash Bandicoot franchise: Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back and Warped. If you're unfamiliar with Crash, he's an enhanced bandicoot out to stop Dr. Neo Cortex. This collection retains all the elements from the original games -- like those iconic TNT boxes and Aku Aku masks --  but adds a few new things, like checkpoints, time trials and more.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

If you've always wanted to be a gangster, this remastered collection is for you. You play as a cab driver in the 1930s who gets involved in the world of organized crime. This collection contains remakes of all three Mafia titles, remastered for the current generation of consoles so they look as good as a Scorsese film.

Games that left Game Pass

While Microsoft added those games to the service, it also removed four others. So if you want to finish your campaign or any side quests in these games, you'll have to buy them separately now.

Airborne Kingdom
Offworld Trading Company
Shadow Warrior 3
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
