Apple has debuted an update to its high-end headphones, the AirPods Max, which now includes USB-C charging at its Glowtime event.

The headphones will now include the new midnight, blue, purple, orange and starlight colors, plus personalized spatial audio and the same $549 (£549, AU$899) price tag. While the new AirPods 4 now use the H2 chip, the updated Max seems to keep the same internal components as before.

The Apple AirPods Max have become ubiquitous in the four years since they were released, and its design and head-tracking features helped inform models like the $449 Sonos Ace and the $400 Sony WH-1000XM5.

The updated headphones will be available from Sept. 20.
