Apple released the second public beta of iOS 18.4 on March 4, and it introduced a handful of new emoji to the iPhones of developers and public beta testers. The new emoji include a paint splatter, a harp and a tired-looking face with bags under its eyes -- which many of us can relate to. Apple has indicated that iOS 18.4 will be released to the public in April, so all iPhones could see these emoji then.
Here's the full list of the eight new emoji developers and public beta testers can find in the beta.
Google unveiled these emoji as part of Unicode 16.0 in September. While you might have to wait until April to use these emoji on your iPhone, you could see them sooner in other places.
Google wrote online in July that new emoji would be available on Android devices this month, and you could see these emoji online as a web font now.
For now, only developers and public beta testers can see and use these emoji on their iPhones. If you want to download the iOS 18.4 beta to see these emoji and other new features, I recommend doing so on something other than your primary device. Because this isn't the final version of iOS 18.4, the update might be buggy, and battery life may be short, so it's best to keep those troubles on a secondary device.
Note that the beta isn't the final version of iOS 18.4, so there's a chance these emoji might not arrive on your iPhone when iOS 18.4 is released to the public in April.
