Sadly, we're on the last day of Amazon's Big Spring Sale. During the event, we've seen the online retail giant offer some of the first major discounts of the year. If you've been looking for a new tablet, the Lenovo M9 Tab is one of the best budget-minded options out there right now. That's because the 9-inch slate was on sale for $80, its lowest price ever on Amazon by a wide margin. Although that deal has technically sold out, Amazon will still let you buy one at its lowest price if you know where to look.
Our link should take you to the $80 listing shipped and sold by Amazon, which you can buy now if you're willing to wait for it without a set delivery date. If you don't see $80, Click on Other sellers on Amazon, and the $80 Amazon listing should be near the top of the list. It's unclear how long it will take for additional units to arrive and then ship out to you, but usually, for a temporarily out-of-stock item, customers will have to wait 3-8 weeks.
If you're not the patient type, there are other tablet deals that are still available to ship this week. The 256GB Apple iPad is now $70 off, bringing it to just $429. For a more high-end Android option, the Microsoft Surface Pro is now an incredible $450 off, dropping the price down to $950. And for something around the same price range, take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 for $101 off bringing the price to $129.
The Lenovo Tab M9 has Google Lens built into its camera to seamlessly translate text, help with homework or identify products or places. The front camera can also be used for facial recognition -- perfect for securing your tablet and ensuring that it's only accessible to you. This HD Lenovo tablet has 32GB of storage and a decent little Mediatek Helio G80 eight-core processor. It also has a lengthy battery life, with up to 13 hours of video playback on a single charge.

With the full Google suite of apps, including the Google Play Store, the Tab M9 is an affordable alternative to the Amazon Fire HD series, also discounted this week. You can install apps from both Google and Amazon's app stores, and you can use reading apps beyond Kindle, such as Google Play Books and Kobo. While you can technically install Google Play on Fire tablets, it involves workarounds and can be disabled after a system update should Amazon choose to start fighting with Google again.
Why this deal matters
New tablets can be expensive, and it's rare to find an option with solid specs for less than $100. This tablet is notably cheaper than any of the available iPad deals and is one of the biggest discounts we've seen on Android tablets during Amazon's Big Spring Sale. Although the deal is now backordered, there are still many other tablet deals you can take advantage of.
