Ring Doorbell
Ring/CNET

Setting up a new home security system doesn't have to mean a ton of cameras and floodlights, but sometimes a good video doorbell is enough to get the job done. There are plenty of them for you to choose from, but Ring is responsible for many of our favorites. If a Ring doorbell is on your shopping list, we suggest picking one up during Amazon's Big Spring Sale. Amazon had the Ring Battery Doorbell for just $55 for one day only (March 26), so it's currently at regular price, but it can possibly go back on sale if you keep an eye on it.

This new and improved model features 66% more vertical coverage alongside the new head-to-toe video option. By hooking it up to your phone, you can keep an eye on all activity at the front of your house and even talk to visitors via a two-way talk system. This is particularly useful when receiving packages.

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

By upgrading to a Ring Protect Plan (subscription sold separately), you can store all video recordings for up to 180 days. Think of it as an added layer of security for when you're on vacation. For more tech gifts like this, check out our guide on top tech gifts under $100.

Why this deal matters

It's difficult to put a price on security and peace of mind, but we do know that $55 was a new low price for the doorbell. It is currently back up to regular price, but it can possibly go back down again.
